CALL FOR RESEARCH & COMMUNICATION INTERNS AT HEALTHNOMICS

About Healthnomics
Welcome to Healthnomics, where evidence-based insights converge with tangible impact! We are a dynamic and rapidly expanding team of dedicated healthcare professionals united by a shared passion for driving innovation within Africa’s diverse healthcare sector. Our core mission revolves around crafting compelling, evidence-driven narratives and insightful commentaries that illuminate the critical intersection of research advancements and groundbreaking innovations shaping healthcare across the African continent. We aspire to curate a portfolio of high-quality content that not only captures the attention of key stakeholders—including esteemed funders, visionary founders, esteemed researchers, and the broader public—but also inspires action and informs critical decision-making.

The Opportunity: Research & Communication Interns
To bolster our content creation efforts, Healthnomics is actively seeking two (2) highly motivated and aspiring interns. This is a unique, six-month voluntary role, tentatively scheduled from May to October 2026. While this is an unpaid position in terms of salary, interns will receive a monthly stipend of ₦50,000 to offset data costs and facilitate their work. Interns will be instrumental in producing impactful content that aligns with our overarching mission.

Key Responsibilities
Over the course of the internship, each intern will be expected to:
• Content Creation: Produce a minimum of six (and up to ten) high-quality blog pieces. Each piece should be meticulously researched, drawing from thorough literature reviews and/or engaging interviews with relevant stakeholders in the health sector. This means approximately one substantial blog post per month.
• Social Media Management: At least one intern will be designated to manage our social media platforms. This includes conceptualizing, creating, and disseminating engaging content such as eye-catching graphics, compelling captions, informative videos, and other digital assets designed to reach and resonate with our target audience.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely and collaboratively with other members of the Healthnomics team to ensure that all content pieces are strategically aligned with the organization’s overall mission and communication goals.

Eligibility and Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who possess a unique blend of creative flair and analytical rigor. Ideal candidates will be:
• Creative Writing Proficiency: While formal research experience is not mandatory, a strong aptitude for creative and engaging writing is essential.
• Motivation and Commitment: A high level of motivation and a genuine willingness to dedicate time and effort to our mission.
• Innovative Thinking: The ability to think outside the box and approach challenges with novel solutions.
• Research Skills: Proficiency in conducting literature searches and reviews, with the ability to gather, critically assess, and synthesize evidence effectively.
• Academic Standing: Currently in their 3rd year to final year of undergraduate studies, or be recent graduates. Preference will be given to those with backgrounds in health sciences, though candidates from other disciplines with a strong passion for health topics will also be considered.
• Time Commitment: Ability to dedicate approximately 5 hours per week to internship activities throughout the six-month period.
• Technical Skills (Plus): Proficiency in using Canva for graphic design is considered a significant advantage.

We understand that this represents a substantial commitment, but we believe that if you are passionate about transforming the landscape of health reporting in Africa, this internship offers an unparalleled opportunity to make a real difference.
