The Enumerator will play a vital role in supporting these efforts by collecting high-quality quantitative and qualitative data from community members. This includes conducting structured interviews, surveys, Key Informant Interviews (KIIs), and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), especially among women, girls, and other vulnerable populations. The role requires a strong understanding of gender-sensitive approaches to ensure that data collected reflects the unique experiences, risks, and needs of different groups.
Enumerators are expected to use mobile data collection tools such as ODK and KoBo Toolbox to gather and submit accurate and complete data on a daily basis. They must ensure confidentiality, obtain informed consent from participants, and maintain a respectful and culturally sensitive approach during all interactions. Creating a safe and supportive environment is essential, particularly when discussing sensitive topics such as protection risks and gender-based violence.
In addition to data collection, Enumerators will report progress, highlight challenges, and ensure compliance with ethical standards, including Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) guidelines. Candidates should possess at least a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience, with a minimum of one year in humanitarian or NGO-related data collection.
The position requires resilience, integrity, and strong interpersonal skills, as work will be conducted in challenging environments. Fluency in English and local dialects is essential. This short-term role (3 days) is based in Bama and Konduga, with three Enumerators per LGA.
