As part of its ongoing programmes, CRADI is implementing a Nationwide Assessment of Productivity, Markets, and Innovation Readiness in Nigeria’s Agricultural Ecosystem under its Agricultural Transformation Lab (ATL). This large-scale baseline study aims to generate comprehensive, ward-level data across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, covering all 774 Local Government Areas. The study will provide critical insights into agricultural production systems, market structures, pricing dynamics, value chains, innovation adoption, digital readiness, and the broader agricultural entrepreneurship ecosystem. It will also assess inclusivity, with a focus on women, youth, and persons with disabilities.

To successfully execute this initiative, CRADI seeks to engage Data Collectors who will play a vital role in gathering accurate, reliable, and timely field data. These positions are open nationwide, including Abia, Abuja (FCT), Adamawa, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Bauchi, Bayelsa, Benue, Borno, Cross River, Delta, Ebonyi, Edo, Ekiti, Enugu, Gombe, Imo, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Kogi, Kwara, Lagos, Nasarawa, Niger, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, Oyo, Plateau, Rivers, Sokoto, Taraba, Yobe, and Zamfara States.

Role Overview
The Data Collectors will work under the supervision of assigned Field Supervisors and the Research Team to support high-quality data collection processes. They will engage directly with respondents in various communities, ensuring that all interactions are conducted professionally, ethically, and respectfully. The role requires strict adherence to research protocols and ethical standards to maintain the integrity of the data collected.

Key Responsibilities
Selected candidates will participate in a mandatory pre-field briefing session, where they will be trained on research tools, methodologies, ethical considerations, and field expectations. They will conduct structured interviews and surveys within assigned locations, accurately recording responses using approved data collection tools, which may include digital platforms.

Data Collectors will be responsible for ensuring that all data collected is complete, accurate, and submitted within the specified timeframe. They must adhere strictly to research ethics, including obtaining informed consent from participants, maintaining confidentiality, and remaining neutral throughout the data collection process. Additionally, they are expected to promptly report any field challenges, observations, or concerns to their supervisors and provide brief field notes where required.Future of work

Deliverables
Successful candidates will be required to attend the mandatory training/briefing session, complete all assigned interviews within the designated period, and submit clean, verified datasets on a daily basis. They must also comply fully with all reporting guidelines and deadlines, ensuring that data quality standards are consistently met.

Duration of Assignment
This is a short-term field engagement. Applicants must be fully available throughout the entire duration of the assignment.

Requirements
Interested applicants should possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse populations across different cultural and geographic contexts. Prior experience in data collection, research, or field surveys will be considered an advantage. Candidates must demonstrate attention to detail, integrity, and the ability to work independently while meeting tight deadlines.

Additionally, applicants should be comfortable using digital data collection tools and must be willing to travel within assigned locations. A good understanding of local languages and contexts will be beneficial, especially for field engagement in rural or underserved communities.
