PROGRAM SUPPORT INTERN (REMOTE) AfricaNenda Foundation

PROGRAM SUPPORT INTERN (REMOTE)
AfricaNenda Foundation | May 2026

A remote paid internship opportunity is now open with the AfricaNenda Foundation — an African-led organization focused on advancing inclusive instant payment systems (IIPS) across the continent.

The mission is simple but ambitious: expand access to financial services for all Africans, including the financially excluded, by strengthening digital payment infrastructure and enabling policy environments that support financial inclusion and cross-border payments.

This internship sits within the Projects team and offers hands-on exposure to the fast-growing digital financial services ecosystem in Africa.

It is structured for learning. But it is also structured for contribution.

The Program Support Intern will assist across multiple workstreams, including research, project coordination, stakeholder engagement, and campaign support. The role blends analysis with execution — moving between desk research, reporting, documentation, and operational support for events and initiatives.

Some days will focus on data. Others on coordination. Others on communication materials or stakeholder tracking. The work is varied, fast-moving, and practical.

Key responsibilities include supporting research and trend analysis for internal presentations, assisting in the development of briefs and reports, and contributing to advocacy and capacity-building materials. The intern will also support project tracking systems, maintain stakeholder databases, and ensure timely updates across ongoing initiatives.

There is also a strong emphasis on amplification and engagement — supporting the organization of virtual and in-person platforms, campaign activities, and cross-team initiatives.

Beyond execution, the role is designed as a learning pathway. Interns will gain exposure to project management practices, digital financial systems, stakeholder engagement strategies, and the broader financial inclusion ecosystem in Africa.

To qualify, applicants are expected to hold a bachelor’s degree in project management, business administration, international relations, social sciences, or a related field. Strong research, communication, and organizational skills are essential, alongside proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.

Attention to detail matters. So does adaptability.

A strong interest in financial inclusion, digital payments, or digital financial services is highly desirable. Familiarity with French is an advantage, while Portuguese is an added bonus.

The internship is remote, full-time, and runs for six months.
