INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL ADVERTISEMENT FOR THE POST OF PRINCIPAL AND SUBJECT TEACHERS AT LAGOS STATE UNIVERSITY INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL
1.0 PREAMBLE
Lagos State University International School (LASUIS) is a co-educational secondary school owned by the Lagos State University. It is sited on the Lagos State University Main Campus, Ojo. It commenced operations officially on 16th September 2016.
The School operates within the philosophical framework of the country. It has uniquely adapted the Nigerian philosophy of education to decide its own purposes and intentions while introducing some modifications to maintain its international status.
The Lagos State International School hereby invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the vacant posts of:
A. PRINCIPAL
B. SUBJECT TEACHERS
i. Physics
ii. Chemistry
iii. Social Studies
iv. Creative and Cultural Arts
v. Basic Technology, and
vi. Music
2.0 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA AND QUALIFICATIONS
A. PRINCIPAL (Chief Education Officer – GL 14)
Applicants must possess a good Honours degree in Education with a minimum of Second Class Upper Division, certification by the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN). Fifteen (15) years post-qualification experience with five (5) years in administrative position as Head of a School. Additional qualifications and proficiency in the use of ICT will be an added advantage.
B. SUBJECT TEACHERS
i. PHYSICS TEACHER
Applicants must possess a good Honours degree [B.Sc. (Ed)] in Physics Education with a minimum of Second Class Upper Division plus NYSC Discharge Certificate, certification by the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN). Additional qualifications and proficiency in the use of ICT will be an added advantage.
ii. CHEMISTRY TEACHER
Applicants must possess a good Honours degree [B.Sc. (Ed)] in Chemistry Education with a minimum of Second Class Upper Division plus NYSC Discharge Certificate, certification by the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN). Additional qualifications and proficiency in the use of ICT will be an added advantage.
iii. SOCIAL STUDIES TEACHER
Applicants must possess a good Honours degree [B.A. (Ed)] in Social Studies Education or Political Science Education with a minimum of Second Class Upper Division plus NYSC Discharge Certificate, certification by the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN). Additional qualifications and proficiency in the use of ICT will be an added advantage.
iv. CULTURAL AND CREATIVE ARTS TEACHER
Applicants must possess a good Honours degree [B.A. (Ed)/B.Sc.(Ed)] in Creative Arts or Fine/Applied Arts, with a minimum of Second Class Upper Division plus NYSC Discharge Certificate, certification by the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN). Additional qualifications and proficiency in the use of ICT will be an added advantage.
v. BASIC TECHNOLOGY TEACHER
Applicants must possess a good Honours degree [B.Sc./B.Tech./B.Ed] in Technical Education, Engineering, Architecture or related fields, with a minimum of Second Class Upper Division plus NYSC Discharge Certificate, certification by the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN). Additional qualifications and proficiency in the use of ICT will be an added advantage.
vi. MUSIC TEACHER
Applicants must possess a good Honours degree [B.A(Ed.)] in Music, with a minimum of Second Class Upper Division plus NYSC Discharge Certificate, certification by the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN). Additional qualifications and proficiency in the use of ICT will be an added advantage.
