VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT — ABUJA, NIGERIAJob search workshop

A recruiting process is underway.

High stakes. High impact.

Technical Advice Connect LTD/GTE (TAConnect), a Nigerian non-profit advancing innovative technical assistance models, is seeking one exceptional leader to drive a flagship national initiative — the Nigeria Maternal, Newborn, Child Health and Nutrition (MNCHN) Community of Practice (CoP).

One role. Big mandate.

The Project Lead will serve as the strategic and technical anchor of the CoP, guiding its design, execution, and long-term institutionalization. This is not a routine leadership position. It is a systems role. Complex. Influential. National in scope.

At its core, the CoP is designed to connect ideas to action — linking research, data, and implementation learning to real policy decisions that improve maternal and newborn outcomes across Nigeria. The Project Lead will make that connection work. Daily.

They will lead strategy. Shape national learning agendas. Drive evidence synthesis. Translate research into policy. Align institutions that don’t always align easily — government, academia, donors, and implementers. It requires precision. And persuasion.

The role demands presence. At the table with policymakers. Inside technical conversations. Across national and global platforms.Graduate Trainee Program

Leadership here goes beyond coordination. It means building systems that last — strengthening institutions, mentoring researchers, and guiding a transition toward government ownership and sustainability. Nothing short-term. Everything intentional.

Execution matters too. Oversight of research, learning systems, stakeholder engagement, and program delivery sits squarely within this role. So does accountability — to partners, to government systems, and to donor expectations.

The ideal candidate is deeply experienced. Typically with 12–15 years in public health, implementation research, or health systems strengthening. Senior-level leadership is essential. So is credibility — academic, technical, and institutional.

Advanced qualifications are expected. A PhD, DrPH, or clinical specialization in Public Health, Paediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Epidemiology, or a related field.

More importantly, the right individual understands how systems move. And how to move them.

Location: Abuja, Nigeria.

Qualified candidates should submit their CV and a tailored Cover Letter to hr@taconnect-ng.org, using “Project Lead, MNCH-COP” as the subject line.

Deadline: 11:59 PM (Nigerian Time), 6th June 2026.
