The U.S. Mission to Nigeria, which includes the Embassy in Abuja and the Consulate General in Lagos, is currently inviting applications from qualified and motivated candidates for the position of General Services Office (GSO) Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity to work in an international environment and contribute to diplomatic operations in Nigeria.

Role Summary
The GSO Assistant plays a key role in supporting the General Services Office by managing critical service areas such as Customer Service and Travel operations. The successful candidate will work closely with Assistant General Services Officers to ensure efficient service delivery to both locally employed staff and American direct hires, including their families.
This role reports directly to the Supervisory General Services Officer (SGSO) and requires a high level of professionalism, discretion, and organizational ability. Due to the sensitive nature of the role, candidates must be eligible to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.

Key Responsibilities
Provide administrative and operational support across GSO functions
Coordinate travel arrangements and logistics for mission staff
Deliver high-quality customer service to internal stakeholders
Assist in procurement and compliance with U.S. government regulations
Maintain records and ensure adherence to administrative procedures
Support coordination with local authorities and service providers

Requirements
A University Degree in fields such as Mathematics, Psychology, Law, Business Management, Communications, or a related discipline
Minimum of 2 yearsβ experience in logistics, procurement, project management, or administrative roles
At least 6 months of supervisory experience
Strong knowledge of administrative processes and office management

Federal Travel Regulations
Embassy organizational structure
Nigerian administrative systems (e.g., Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Customs, Tax Authorities)
