Job Title: Procurement / Logistics Officer
Location: Kogi
Job Summary
* The Procurement / Logistics Officer is responsible for sourcing suppliers, negotiating prices, preparing purchase orders, and coordinating the movement, delivery, and storage of goods.
* The role ensures timely procurement, cost efficiency, accurate documentation, and smooth logistics operations in compliance with company policies and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Duties:
* Source, evaluate, and select credible suppliers/vendors.
* Prepare purchase orders and ensure compliance with procurement procedures.
* Negotiate prices, delivery terms, and payment conditions.
* Track purchase requisitions and ensure timely delivery of requested items.
* Maintain vendor records, price lists, and procurement documentation.
* Monitor supplier performance and maintain healthy supplier relationships.
Logistics Duties:
* Coordinate logistics for inbound and outbound movement of goods.
* Track deliveries and follow up with suppliers or transporters.
* Verify delivered items (quality, quantity, specifications) before acceptance.
* Liaise with stores/warehouse for proper receiving and documentation.
* Arrange proper transportation, dispatch, and distribution schedules.
* Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards during logistics operations.
Documentation & Reporting:
* Maintain accurate procurement and logistics records (POs, invoices, delivery notes).
* Prepare weekly and monthly procurement/logistics activity reports.
* Ensure document filing, transparency, and audit readiness.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
* OND / HND / B.Sc. in: Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics & Transport, Purchasing & Supply, Or related field
Experience:
* 3-5 years experience in procurement, logistics, or supply chain roles.
* Experience working with vendors, transporters, and warehouse teams is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies:
* Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
* Knowledge of procurement procedures and inventory systems
* Good understanding of logistics and transportation operations
* Proficiency in Excel and ERP/inventory software
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* High level of accuracy, accountability, and integrity
* Ability to multitask and work under pressure
* Good record‑keeping and reporting skills
