Job Title: HMO Billing & Administrative Officer
Location: Gwarimpa, Abuja (FCT)
Job Description
* We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive HMO Billing & Administrative Officer to manage HMO billing processes while supporting day-to-day administrative operations.
* The ideal candidate will ensure accurate claims processing, efficient office coordination, and smooth communication between patients, HMOs, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and submit HMO claims accurately and on time
* Verify patient eligibility and HMO coverage
* Follow up on outstanding claims and resolve rejections/denials
* Reconcile HMO payments and maintain billing records
* Liaise with HMOs on billing issues and approvals
* Ensure compliance with billing guidelines and policies
* Handle office administrative tasks
* Maintain patient records and documentation systems
* Coordinate appointments and support patient scheduling
* Manage correspondence (emails, calls, and official documents)
* Support other departments with administrative needs
Job Requirements
* Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Health Information Management, or related field
* Proven experience in HMO billing and/or administrative roles
* Good understanding of HMO processes and healthcare operations
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word)
* Strong organizational and multitasking skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in a hospital, clinic, or healthcare setting
* Familiarity with medical billing software
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
